Christmas Preparations: Advent Envelopes

This year Ella and I made Advent Envelopes like last year.  This time we used little white bags and attached 3-D Christmas stickers.  Ella enjoyed putting the stickers and numbers on each bag.  While she was at school, I wrote messages for each bag--the front of the message is a sentence about the Christmas story (e.g, "An angel, named Gabriel, told Mary that she would have a baby") and the back gives Ella something to do that particular day (e.g., "Make cookies and share some with an older neighbor," or "Have a tea party with Mommy" or "You're invited to a special trip to the city to see the Christmas lights").

The bags are hanging with clothespins (thanks, Baba) on a clothesline in our hallway upstairs.  Every morning, Ella can read her message from her bag and open the little door on the other Advent calendars that Nana bought for the girls (one of them has chocolates inside--yum!).

  2. What can I say, again the values that you both are teaching the girls, they will remember and past them on to their children, "I am sure".
