Ella's First Day of School

Today was Ella's first day of school. She started a 2-morning a week 3 year old program at a Presbyterian church close to our house. Throughout the summer, she insisted that she was not going to school, but over the last month after we made a couple of visits and talked about it more, she thankfully changed her mind.

Rob and I bought her a Little Critter book about the first day of school and helped her backpack last night. This morning she asked for a "sprinkle pancake," bacon (veggie), canteloupe, and orange juice. She did great when I dropped her off--hung her backpack on the hook, tried out her spot on the carpet, and then went to a table where she saw some of her friends coloring with markers. She gave me a hug and kiss and that was it!

When I picked Ella up, these are the things she told me she did----colored with markers, played at the water table, went out for recess and rode the rocket, listened to a story about a mouse's first day of school, ate a cookie and drank "the best apple juice," and finger painted with red paint.

I, on the other hand, enjoyed a relaxing breakfast out with my mom friends before doing a few errands, including leisurely trying on a few clothes at Target and finding a $3 skirt! I think I...I mean, Ella....is going to love preschool!

(We cut out pictures of things she likes and glued them onto the apple--
flowers, markers, scissors, balls, butterflies, fruit, celery, sandwiches, and dogs)

  2. What a big girl Ella has become. That is really hard when they go off to school. I know I cried when my boys went off to school. But as a Mom, you made her such a wonderful breakfast that started a wonderful day for Ella. I love her silly face. Ella looks like she will have a great time in school. I know the family is so "proud", as well as I am. Tell Ella we said to enjoy her time in shcool with her classmates and her teachers.
