Outdoor Fun!

Ella is definitely an outdoor-girl at this stage (and especially after the the loooong, snowy winter we just had). She loves to stomp in puddles, make handprints from mud, kick balls, play sidewalk chalk, look for things like sticks, rocks, bugs, and special flowers, and, her favorite, run!

From the moment the snow started to melt, we were outside enjoying ourselves. Here are a bunch of pictures from the past month of Ella playing outside:

first day out in a long time!
(running as fast as she can so she doesn't have to go back inside)

playing with the water in the storm drain

feeling for "something important" in the water

As I was taking the pictures, Ella thought it might be a good idea to taste the water from off of her hands---yulk!

getting ready to skip rocks with Rob into the creek
during a hike at Tyler State Park

daddy and daughter looking together

Ella loves to find and take hiking sticks along with us whenever we walk

asking her friend, Xander, if he wants to get traced

tracing Xander with chalk

rock climbing at a park in Downingtown

playing in crabbie sandbox (likes to hide her feet in the sand)

in Crabbie another day and showing off her stickers

"Look at me!".....balancing on a bar at the playground

check out the size rock she wanted to skip into the creek!

Rob's turn to show Ella how to do it

picking flowers

hiking with another stick (two actually)

Ella tracing Rob in the driveway
(They went out to play and when I passed the window, I saw his legs on the ground by the car and his eyes closed....then I saw Ella doing her chalk!)

Ella and Rob playing soccer

Rob playing hockey with a pink soccer ball
(Ella missing the pass)

taking a water break
("coffee water" in her Ella cup)

running back for another water break during playgroup

Ella passing a stick through the window to her friend

playgroup friends climbing
(love that face on Ella!)

blowing up a beach ball

We can't wait for all of the outdoor things that we have planned for the Spring and Summer, like planting and working in our vegetable garden, going to the beach, and, of course, lots more playground days ahead!

Looks like Ella was all ready for that snow to leave so she could be outside. Ella looks like she really is enjoying every minute. As always, she takes the very best picture. Of course she also has a great photographer!
