Rain, rain, and...more rain!

We have definitely been getting our fair share of "April showers" this past week. The news reported that we've had 9 straight days of rain. That's not especially fun for a toddler (and toddler mom) who want to be outside, but it is good for our grass, plants, and flowers, which are quickly growing. Yesterday I did manage to cut the lawn in between rain drops and this morning we went to the playground with our friends Charlotte (Char-Char) and Kelly. Last night, I awoke to thunder and lightening, possibly our first thunderstorm of the season. Here are some pictures from the past few days around the Gould house:

pictures of stormy skies over our house in the middle of the day

Ella playing in the birdbath
(Yes, Madge--we washed hands right away! :))

riding her scooter inside the house
(she is getting better at pushing it with one foot by herself)

basil growing in four containers on our porch
(we already used it in several meals...waiting for more to make pesto)

We also have 3 tomato plants growing in containers out back with lots of yellow flowers on them already. I planted 6 cucumber plants in the a flower bed that doesn't have a lot of summer flowers. I'll get pictures of them later.

**Bird nest update--the mom or dad robin continue to sit on the 4 eggs continually. I'm not sure how long it takes for the babies to hatch, but we're anxiously awaiting that day.

The pictures are beautiful but you can keep all that rain. I do love the picture of Ella washing her hands in the bird bath. Great pictures that all can enjoy!
