Hiking in Pennypack Park

On Wednesday, Ella and I went to a MOMS Club Kids' Activity at Pennypack Park. We listened to stories about birds, made bird hats, and collected items for bird nesting boxes. Then we went on a little hike to the pond and spring house. Ella kept looking for Pappy in the woods (since, of course, that's where he lives)! She also looked for birds and worms, and enjoyed collecting leaves and sticks. After our hike we ate a picnic lunch with the group.

Pennypack is an ecological preserve near our house with lots of hiking and biking trails. The Pennypack Creek, which flows into the Delaware River, is part of this park. Rob and I are looking forward to some summer "date nights" at the park with some of their activities like a full moon hike and a beekeeping program. I am also planning on checking out their Saturday morning bird watching walks.

  1. I just loved the pictures of Ella! I bet Pappy missed not going hiking with her. We all know how Pappy likes hiking. Beautiful pictures of Pennypack Park.
