Hurricane Sandy

On Monday, before the evening arrived and the power went out, we spent the day together snuggled inside in our jammies (the girls, anyway), carving our Halloween pumpkin and roasting the seeds, reading, building with Legos (or "yegos" as Molly calls them), watching a movie, and having fun together:

Ella drawing the face on our pumpkin

Ella showing Molly how to scoop out the seeds ("the guts")

 Molly showing Ella a seed

She didn't want to use her hands because the insides felt "too squishy and gooey," so she stuck with the spoon, instead

Did we get enough of the seeds out?

 "More! Mixy, mixy, mixy!"

(We have been in puzzle and Lego mode at our house this month!)

We were very lucky not to have any damage to our home and to only have to bail water out of our sump pits for one night.  We were only without power for a few days and were grateful to Granddad and Nana who let us visit with them during that time so we could be warm and cozy.

  3. How intense the girls are with cleaning out the pumpkin and removing the seeds. They really were into their work. I do agree with Ella I would rather use a spoon to clean out the pumpkin. What great children and best sisters.
