We (okay, I) finally gave in and decided to move forward to have our bedroom redone. The blue carpet was removed the day we moved in and the mirrored bi-fold doors replaced with updated, wood bi-folds in the winter. We also replaced the blue cellular shades with regular horizontal blinds, but have yet to get curtains or a comforter set as we were waiting to redo the walls (which had peachy, blueish wallpaper with a border--very 80's).
Tuesday morning we had the wallpaper removed (we decided to pay someone to save us time and aggrivation of doing that ourselves). The plan is to paint this weekend, and hopefully when we return from Boston, we'll shop for curtains and a duvet cover to complete the room----finally...2 years after we moved in! (Guess that's what happens when you have kids).
Anyway, I'll post before and after pictures when it's all done...keep you in suspense until then.
